MULTIMEDIA DANCE PERFORMANCE
.MOV is a survey on human behaviour.
In a series of stylized pictures, sounds and choreography suggest fragments of everyday life, conflicts, violence and overbearance, but also frailty, uneasiness, fears.
Subjective time substitutes to universal time, while public and private and virtual and real cyclically alternate and the individual, who undergoes mental strains and forcing, yields to primal instincts, revealing ambiguity and contradictions. In the microcosm versus macrocosm opposition, several relatable contexts appear: visions, representation of life, which reveal hidden sides to human nature.
.mov, in computing science, is a file extension that encloses and assembles audio and video content: in the very same way, the show wraps sound, picture, body, thought and movement together in a single, unique dimension.
Interactive systems
.Mov is based on the use of radio frequency accelerometers which allow the dancer to relate to an interactive environment. A subtle use of technology to amplify the movement through customized sonority, aiming at underlining each character’s individuality.
